Summer Vacation, 2010
I hope
you are enjoying your vacation. I look forward to hearing about your
summer experiences. Don't
forget to send your postcards to Mrs. McDowell so we can share our stories. If you lost the address label, just

Supply lists, reading assignments, and
math packets were sent home on the last day of school. If you need them, please stop by the office. The
activities are meant to keep your skills sharp over the summer. They are due the first day of school in September and
will be used as an assessment.
Supplies that you will need to bring to school
are
pencils,
black
or blue pens,
red pen,
eraser,
crayons, markers, or colored pencils (your choice),
pencil case,
glue sticks,
small stapler (optional),
scissors,
ruler with inches and metric,
theme paper with holes,
clear contact paper to cover softcover textbooks,
book
sox or brown paper to cover hardcover textbooks,
a flash drive, and
a
scientific calculator (TI34 series or equivalent suggested).
You do not need a graphing calculator.
Please also bring a box or two of tissues for our classroom.
This year we will be studying plants. If you are doing any gardening this summer, please take pictures to share with
us. I am growing tomatoes and cucumbers and am still hoping to plant pumpkins again this year. It has
been too hot to spend much time outside.
